Red Dead Redemption 2 released in It is now , and Rockstar Games has made it pretty clear it would rather focus on updating Red Dead Online. That's fair enough; it's not as if Red Dead Redemption 2 is short on content. Even so, it would be wonderful to see Arthur Morgan and the gang dealing with a zombie attack. That's where the fans come in.
Undead Towns transforms the settlements and villages of the game into post-apocalyptic nightmare fuel. Meanwhile, Undead Blackwater turns the town into the world's only safe zone, and Undead Nightmare Camps litters the world with makeshift forts.
The modders recommend using these alongside the Rampage Trainer , which gives the game a full Halloween makeover. Draining your Dead Eye or your ammo to deal with a random group of undead is not always a good idea because you really don't want to be in a position shortly afterwards of needing it and not having it!
It isn't incredibly difficult — it just means that you mostly play the game like you did in the original RDR when moving around Tall Tress, always on the lookout for the fast-moving and deadly bears — here a zombie m away can very quickly be a pack of 3 or 4 sprinting at you, and of course in Tall Trees this is made even worse by the bears being undead!
It is very gory but it is all done with good humour rather than being about fear and horror — and I say this as someone who bailed out of AMC's The Walking Dead after 50 minutes. The blood-soaked humour is fun and the makers obviously listened to their community if one judges by the little segment involving "Herbert Moooooooon"! It is told with dark humour but the story still engaged me and folded well into the main RDR story without ever being part of it in reality — the splatter effects are funny and additions like the Apocalypse horses and blunderbuss remind you not to take it too seriously.
And while it isn't scary per se, it is still easy to get panicked whenever the undead are closing in — trying to get on a roof in an over-run town can be particularly stressful! So on one hand this game is a welcome reason to play as John Marston in the familiar old west again and in a great value game but on the other hand it also provides a new gaming experience as the undead do significantly change the way one plays — everything may essentially be the same game-engine, controls and maps wise, but the approach of the player has to be different since the rules have changed.
I very much enjoyed the game for what it was — I preferred the traditional western of the main game, but Undead was a really fun and imaginative way of extending the game's value at comparatively low cost. The piece has a story of its own.
This time, the focus is wholly on satire. That's fine, though. As usual, the thing always finds a way to bring the mood back down, too. The narrative is nowhere near as compelling as that of the main game, but it serves its purpose and is breezy enough to never get tiresome. The gameplay is the main priority.
It feels distinct because the enemies are all a lot more aggressive and can take more damage. Even the animals are bile-spewing zombies. It's an interesting world, filled with all manner of supernatural occurrence, and it's enjoyable to roam around in. The game is actually a lot of fun. It's probably one of the better zombie games I've played, actually. It isn't as good as the main title, but it's entertaining throughout. Remember when Rockstar actually put effort into their DLCs?
Calling this a zombie reskin is far too simplified of a statement. This alternate storyline blew doors off hinges when it came to DLC expectations. For a measly 20 bucks, most of us felt like we were getting a brand new game! Best DLC of all time! In a twist on the main game, Red Dead Redemption, this alternate game is literally a nightmare.
You're still in the old west, but the story mode is about zombies. If you're a horror fanatic and love zombies, then you'll love this game. It definitely is a whole new genre, as well as intense.
The protagonist is a great role model, honest, reliable and cares a lot about his friends and family. Lost of blood, not for the squeamish. This title contains: Positive role models.
Teen, 14 years old Written by Duckyboy October 3, I know a lot of inappropriate things in gaming for just a 13 year old. My father let me play this game but he played red dead redemption the original and he didn't like the nudity in it so it took me a little while to to convince him as soon as i played it it wasn't that bad it didn't have any nudity like red dead redemption did so that's an A on my list and the violence was okay so and it was not very Gorey of a game yes you can shoot heads off but that's about as bad as it gets.
Teen, 14 years old Written by [email protected] November 2, Red Dead Redemption This game will be fine for older teens not as bad as first one. Stellar Rockstar game that will please many Great zombie shooter that may not be good for the younger ones. There is lots of zombie violence as well as violence toward survivors. Depending on what weapon you are using, and where you shoot them can result in how much blood or gore will appear. There is language present within the game, but doesn't contain as much as a lot of mature rated games have.
There is some tobacco use, but very mild and nothing to worry about. There is only sexual talk and dialogue that aren't to frequent and aren't graphic. Unlike the original game there is no nudity present or any real sexual content. Very mature 11 and older. Teen, 17 years old Written by ProfesserCrouch October 17, Parents, if your kid cannot play RDR 1, just let them play this!
You may have problems with language, just turn down your TV volume. Violence is a thing you shouldn't be so worried about. It is kind of gory, but barley seen. No sexual content. I could go on and ON with pros and cons. But I won't. So thanks for reading, see ya! Teen, 15 years old Written by No Name, for real. July 17, Screw this game. Ruined the first Red Dead Redemption for me, so don't play it if that what your playing it for.
Teen, 13 years old Written by Shady G April 9, It probably is appropriate for 15 year olds, but playing this will encourage kids to play Red Dead Redemption, which is in no way for kids. This title contains: Positive Messages. Positive role models. Teen, 13 years old Written by cerealkiller February 27, Violent, but very good fun. Got this for my birthday in the bundle which included all the extras and downloadable content as well as Red Dead Redemption and 30 bucks bought it from GameStop it's an awesome deal.
There is a huge amount of violence, and you can kill zombies by shooting them in the head causing large amounts of gore to explode out in slow motion. You can also kill undead creatures may be frighten many people.
But I'll say one thing though. The blood looks like red paint but is scary enough to scare most kids. Language is constant and brutal. Overall,a fun but bloody gaming experience. Undead Nightmare Undead Nightmare has quite a few bad things in it. For example, constant decapitation, large bloody puffs of air when shot, and infrequent swearing. But this game does not just have all "bad" content.
